BISMARCK, N.D. (DEC. 4, 2020) |     Chief Information Officer Shawn Riley, Chief Information Security Officer Kevin Ford and Chief Data Officer Dorman Bazzell will participate in the 39th Annual Government IT Symposium Dec. 8 - 10. North Dakota’s statewide computer science and cybersecurity education initiative, code-named K-20W to reflect “kindergarten through PhD and workforce,” is also nominated for a Golden GOVIT award.

WHEN: Dec. 8, 1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. CIO Shawn Riley; Cindy Blackstad, Manager of Hennepin County Implementation Services; Jeff Godderz, Metropolitan Council Enterprise Collaboration Management Architect; and Nash Pherson, Microsoft Customer Success Manager will discuss “Happy People! Service Management Strategies to Drive Organizational Change.”

Dec. 9, 9:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. CIO Shawn Riley and MN CIO Tarek Tomes: opening remarks and panel discussion, “Crossing State Lines – an Inspiring Conversation with Neighboring CIOs” moderated by Kare 11 News Anchor Jana Shortal.

Dec. 9, 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. CISO Kevin Ford will present on “Unifying Cybersecurity Across 7 Facets of Government: North Dakota Case Study.”

Dec. 10, 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. CDO Dorman Bazzell will present on “Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Virtual Reality and solving problems: what should we be doing?”
