North Dakota Information Technology – EduTech is pleased to announce the dates for its cyber security tournament, Cyber Madness. The middle school tournament will take place October 27, 2023, for virtual play-in, and in-person finals on November 17, 2023.

The high school tournament will take place February 15-16, 2024.

“With all the positive karma of success and press the ND Cyber Madness competitions produced last year within the K12 community, we anticipate schools clamoring to sign up this year for both the middle and high school cybersecurity events. The opportunity for friendly competition, real world exploration into possible career paths, and scholarship enticements help drive the continued popularity” states Tabitha Teel, NDIT-EduTech Program Director.

Students will explore cybersecurity concepts, attack vectors, coding principles, and more through a series of cybersecurity challenges. These challenges will include, but are not limited to, Capture the Flag (CTF), Jeopardy style, and other educational toolsets. Prior experience with cybersecurity is not required for participation. Students will be provided instruction and resources from planning partners leading up to the tournament date.

Organizations and businesses interested in becoming a sponsor of the middle school and high school tournaments can contact Cybersecurity Education and Public Awareness Manager Tony Aukland at 701-328-3245.
