What is it:

Business Analysis (BA) services for new or modernized IT systems focus on aligning business strategy with system capabilities. This includes understanding strategic goals, capturing detailed business requirements, and identifying potential solutions. The outcome is a real set of actionable options for an agency to evaluate, based on their needs and budget.

What do you get with the service:

  • Strategy Analysis: Evaluation of the current state, definition of the desired future state, risk assessment, and development of a change strategy. Common deliverables include solution scope documentation, gap analysis, and a clearly defined roadmap for change.
  • Requirements Analysis: Verification and validation of business requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, and formatted appropriately for use in solution design and evaluation. These requirements serve as the foundation for developing functional and technical specifications and are critical in comparing solution options.
  • Solution Evaluation: Assessment of how well a proposed or implemented solution meets the defined business requirements. This includes performance measurement, value analysis, and recommendations to optimize solution impact

How do you request service:

This service would be included in a larger IT project submission or an Initiative Intake Request.

Billing model:

The hourly rate for Business Analyst (BA) services is outlined in the current biennium’s Budget Guidelines. Services are billed via a signed Statement of Work (SOW), which includes the total number of hours and an estimated total cost.
